FROM CANTEEN FREESTYLES TO THE BIG STAGE: THE JOURNEY OF ADVIL DVIL
Meet **Advil Dvil**, a recording and performing artist, music producer, and graphic designer. While many artists have grand tales of musical origins, Advil's journey began in an unlikely place: the high school canteen. “My classmates and I would freestyle in class and in the canteen during breaks,” he recalls with a smile. Those moments of impromptu rap battles soon morphed into something more serious, leading to his first experience in the studio.
“A couple of my classmates had a music group, **YNDT** (Young Niggas Doing Things), and they asked me to join. That’s how my journey started back in 2016 or so.”
Fast forward nine years, and Advil has turned those freestyle sessions into a career. His passion for music is infectious, and he's quick to share the most important lesson he's learned along the way: “Change is constant. It's the only avenue to growth in anything you do.”
Overcoming Challenges – The Hustle is Real
Like many artists, Advil’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. “Man, I face challenges every day,” he admits. “But right now, the biggest one is **money**.” He’s candid about the realities of pursuing a career in music, where passion often collides with financial struggles. “I’m still trying to overcome that,” he says, showing the determination of someone who believes in their craft, no matter the odds.
But despite the challenges, Advil's drive remains laser-focused on his music. “There’s nothing I work on more than my music. I’m currently working on my own project, and I’ve got a few others lined up for different artists,” he shares, with a spark of excitement in his voice. Music, for him, is more than a hobby or even a profession—it’s his life. “It’s going to change my life more than I can ever imagine. It’s my dream to be highly recognized, awarded, and appreciated in the music industry, and it’s gradually becoming more than just a dream. My breakthrough is just around the corner.”
Success: More than Just Fame
When asked how he defines success, Advil doesn’t hesitate. “When I’ve achieved my goals—the recognition, the awards, and the appreciation in the music industry—that’s success for me.” But success for Advil isn’t just about personal accolades. He’s determined to make sure that when the world knows him, it won’t be for just being an artist or producer. “Honestly, I need more than just people knowing—I want the whole world to know who I am.”
It’s not all smooth sailing, though. Advil points out that one of the biggest misconceptions people have about him is that, because he’s an artist, he must be a “drug addict or a bad influence.” But in his typical laid-back style, he shrugs it off: “I could care less what people think.”
Risk, Spontaneity, and the Road Ahead
While some people can point to a single, life-altering risk they’ve taken, Advil sees things a little differently. “I take a lot of risks, but nothing that has brought me great rewards—yet,” he says, pausing for a moment. “But hopefully, they might.”
When asked what he’s most looking forward to in the next year, his answer is refreshingly relatable. “Graduating from university—no cap,” he says with a laugh, acknowledging the balancing act of being both a student and an artist.
For Advil, music is as natural as breathing. “Making music is spontaneous for me—I do it with ease, even without thinking about it,” he explains. And when it comes to doing something wild and unexpected? “I’m not really the crazy type,” he says. “Everything I do has a specific reason.”
Telepathy and Taking Over the World…Sort of
When asked what superpower he’d like for a day, Advil doesn’t miss a beat: “Telepathy,” he says with a mischievous grin. “I’d use it to take over the world.” And just like that, he bursts out laughing. It's clear Advil has a playful side, one that’s always thinking ahead—whether it’s with his music, his dreams, or the occasional world domination plot.
Words of Wisdom
In a world full of noise, Advil’s advice to his younger self is surprisingly simple and clear: “Focus on making the money—by any means possible.” It’s a reminder that passion is important, but practicality is key, especially in an industry as unpredictable as music.
In closing, when asked if he could have dinner with any fictional character, he takes a moment before naming **Travis Scott** or **The Weeknd**. “I love their brand and how they sell their music to the world,” he says, with admiration in his voice.
And if Advil’s journey has taught us anything, it’s that with focus, determination, and maybe a bit of telepathic world takeover, anything is possible.
_"From canteen freestyles to near world domination, Advil Dvil is on a journey that’s about to explode. And trust us, he’s taking no prisoners."_ It was really a journey having this interview with Advil, his simplicity and originality is something you hardly see in this day and age.
